Cheshire Fire Fighters together with the Cheshire High School Chapter of Students Against Drunk Driving, the Cheshire Police Department and Campion Ambulance Service held a simulation of an alcohol-related vehicle collision at Cheshire High School. The simulation is an annual event to warn students of the dangers of driving while intoxicated and alcohol-related tragedies. This year's simulation was held on Friday, April 30th, which was the day before the Junior Prom on May 1, 2010. In past years, as many as 380 teens nationally were killed in alcohol-related collisions during the months of April, May and June. This is a very important and effective way to show teens in Cheshire what can possibly happen if they drink and drive or ride with someone who has been drinking. All vehicles were donated by Chuck and Eddies in Southington. |
